What you can do: verify the keypad has clean, dry contacts at the back; check that your operator’s transformer LED is solid green (not blinking, which means low voltage); and confirm no one accidentally switched the vacation lock on the inside release. These three checks solve about 15% of the “dead keypad” calls we get.

Where DIY goes wrong: Ghost Controls keypads communicate at low voltage, but they pull that voltage from the operator’s control board. Bridge the wrong terminals troubleshooting and you fry the board that was fine. Worse, Architectural Series encryption requires a specific pairing sequence; done out of order, the keypad bricks itself and the board locks out.
